"Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." II Timothy 2:15
The purpose of AWANA at Calvary is to reach boys and girls in the Chippewa Valley with the Gospel of Christ. We have groups for children who are 3 years of age through those in 5th grade.
In a typical evening the children have game time where they compete as teams in a number of circle games. They also have handbook time where the children are in small groups with a leader. It is during this time that they have opportunity to recite the scripture they have learned during the week. The leaders help the children understand the Bible verses they have memorized. The evening ends with council time. This is a large group time used for announcements, praise and worship, Bible teaching, and the handing out of awards.
AWANA is currently being offered for the 2011-2012 school year. AWANA takes place from 6:25 pm - 8:00 pm.
